What is your favourite place you have travelled to?
As unusual as it may sound, in 2005 I had the opportunity to volunteer as an ESL teacher at the University of Kabul. Living in Afghanistan during those months was a profound and unforgettable experience. The food, the people, and the culture left a lasting impact on me in so many positive ways.
What is your favourite book?
Kristin Hannah’s The Nightingale is a powerful historical novel that follows two very different sisters as they navigate life in France during WWII. It captures the impossible choices women were forced to make and the extraordinary courage they found within themselves. Hannah’s writing pulls readers in with her vivid storytelling and emotional depth. I’m not the most avid reader, so I was genuinely surprised by how completely absorbed I became. Keep tissues close—this unforgettable novel delivers an emotional punch toward the end.
